Privacy Policy
How SBS collects, uses, protects and manages personal information across this website and its internal advertising systems.
Effective 1 September 2026
SBS Waterproofing (“SBS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and processes personal information in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”) and other applicable law. SBS is the responsible party for information processed through this website.
Information we collect
We may collect:
- your name, email address, telephone number, property address or suburb, enquiry subject and message when you contact us;
- information you provide during inspections, quotations, projects or other business interactions;
- technical and usage information such as device and browser details, IP address, pages visited, referring pages, dates and times;
- cookie, analytics and advertising-attribution information, including UTM parameters, GCLID, GBRAID and WBRAID where supplied by your browser or advertising platform; and
- Google Ads account data accessed by the SBS Google Ads Bridge for SBS's own advertising management and reporting.
Why we use information
We use personal information only where there is a lawful and reasonable purpose, including to respond to enquiries, arrange inspections, prepare and administer quotations or work, provide services, maintain business records, improve this website, measure marketing performance, secure our systems, comply with legal duties and manage SBS's own Google Ads account.
Google Ads integration
The SBS Google Ads Bridge is an internal integration used by authorised SBS personnel to read, manage and report on SBS's own Google Ads account through Google's official APIs. OAuth credentials and tokens are kept in protected server-side configuration. Google Ads data is not sold or used to build advertising profiles for third parties. Access can be revoked through the relevant Google account or by contacting SBS.
Cookies and analytics
This website may use essential browser storage and Google Analytics to understand website use and advertising attribution. Your browser settings may allow you to restrict cookies or clear stored information. Some measurement functions may then be unavailable.
Sharing and operators
We do not sell personal information. We may share the minimum information necessary with trusted operators and service providers that support hosting, email, analytics, advertising, IT security, customer management and project delivery. These may include Vercel and Google. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a legitimate business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
International processing
Some technology providers may process or store information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, SBS takes reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements that protect personal information to a standard consistent with applicable law.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, legal or contractual duties, dispute management and legitimate records, after which it is deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether SBS holds personal information about you, request access or correction, object to certain processing, request deletion where there is no lawful reason to retain the information, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
Please contact SBS first so that we can try to resolve your concern. You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator using the contact information published at inforegulator.org.za.
